OK, I realise what a div I am, sending my first blog twice

  • First Blog

I moved from London to a very rural part of Kent, a year ago. I am four miles from the nearest main road and live on a stable yard, where there is very rarely a dull day. This morning at 5.15, one of the horses, who falls asleep on his feet, then falls over had done so in the night and kicked his stable door off, escaping into the main block, seeing as I live in a minute flat above the stable I was woken up and had to go investigate, out of my warm bed. The early dawn mist is lying close to the ground over the fields, the dawn chorus has been and gone. It is such a change to wake to either horses or birds instead of sirens wailing past as they did in North London, where I moved from. There are downsides, insofar as the water goes off every so often, my calor gas bottle tends to run out in the middle of sunday dinner, the cess pit has to be pumped out once a week a smell that makes you gag, mud all winter and flies in the summer. Mmmm nice. Altogether better than London though.

I moved from Muswell Hill, North London a year ago, to this extremely rural place. I live on a working stable yard, the horses pull carriages for weddings and funerals. I live in s tiny flat above one of the stable blocks. This morning at 5.15!!!!!! one of the horses escaped from his stable and started clip clopping about under my bedroom, I had to leave my warm bed and investigate and get him back in his stable, he falls asleep on his feet, then falls over, he did this last night and kicked his door off, that is how he escaped. The water goes off here regularly, the calor gas usually runs out in the middle of cooking sunday dinner and someone has to do shit duty once a week, which involves pumping the water from the cess pit before it comes back up the pipes, a very fresh and bracing smell once a week or so. The winter was hard here, I only got cabin fever a couple of times, when snowed in. In the winter it is mud mud mud and in the summer it is flies flies flies, trouble is you know exactly where the flies have been before landing on my food!!!!!!!! There are 19 horses up here hardly a day goes without some drama. I wish I had started a blog when I first moved here, it has been hysterical.
